Global semiconductor sales fell 14.6% in April

World sales of semiconductors in April amounted to 32.1 billion dollars, which is 14.6% less than in the same period last year. This is stated in the report of the Semiconductor Industry Association. Relative to the previous month, the figure fell by 0.4%. The drop in sales of chips in the world has been observed for the past four months. In annual terms, their decline was noted in all product categories and in all regional markets. The region of North and South America recorded a decline in the monthly figure by 3%. In Europe, it fell by 1.2%. In China, the volume of microprocessors sold increased by 1.8% compared to March. The figure in Japan grew by 2.5%. In annual terms, sales in the North and South America region fell by 29.5%. Sales fell by 10.9% in Japan and China. The decline in Europe was at 8%.
