Inflation in France accelerated in June to 1.2%

In June, the annual consumer price inflation in France, according to the final estimate of the Insee statistics, was 1.2%. Compared with May, when it was at the level of 0.9%, inflation accelerated, coinciding with the market estimate. This was due to the rise in prices for services by 1.2% and the rise in prices for food products by 2.6%. Compared to the previous month, prices for goods and services for consumers rose by 0.2%. This figure also confirmed the forecasts of economists. The cost of energy for the year increased by 2.4%, while for the month it dropped by 0.1%. The prices for clothes decreased in annual terms by 0.9%, and the prices for shoes increased by 0.1%. Last month, there was an increase in core inflation in the country to 0.9% from the May value of 0.5%.
