Inflation in France accelerated to 1.3% in April

In France in April of this year, the acceleration of annual inflation was recorded, according to national standards, up to 1.3% from 1.1% in March. Such final data was provided by Insee. For the month, consumer prices rose by 0.3%. Economists had not expected a revision of the preliminary estimates, which suggested an annual price increase of 1.2% and an increase in the second indicator of 0.2%. Food prices in annual terms increased by 2.5%. Energy prices rose by 4.8%. The rise in prices for tobacco products was at the level of 8.1%. Services increased in price by 1%. According to EU standards, annual inflation in France in April was at the level of 1.5%. Compared with March, prices increased by 0.4%.
